About ShambleJam
ShambleJam begins with an idea, born of a dream, and follows the life of a young boy growing up in early 1900s Marceline, Missouri. Inspired by young Walt Disney’s early days on his Aunt and Uncle’s farm, the story blends reflection with fantasy.
Wally Shamble is a misunderstood dreamer—a creative visionary—whose strict father clashes with his imaginative spirit, while his warm, understanding mother provides support. His brother, Root, tries to nurture his budding genius, even if he isn’t quite sure how to harness it. Whimsical characters like Zignat, an intelligent mouse, and Kimball, a confused wiener dog, round out the portrait of farm life. Despite life's setbacks and a father who scorns dreamers, Wally’s spirit grows ever more determined.
Who knows? He might one day inspire the world.
WALLY
The Industrious boy who dreams with an endlessly creative mind. He soon finds Marceline, Missouri is the perfect home for the birth of dreams.
ROOT
Wally’s older brother and unflinching supporter. His little brother confuses him, but he can’t help but see there is magic in the kid’s dreaming.
MOPS
The nurturing mom who understands dreams. Her heart is warm and loving. She is kind to both humans and animals - with a soft spot for mice.
POPS
A strict father who worries constantly about money. He cares about his family, but is awkward in showing it. His greatest desire is to see his young son, Wally, cease daydreaming...
UNCA ANDY
The postman with more bills than letters, but with a knack for remembering names and dates, he’s a caring man who always seems to have good advice - or a gift for his friends.
KIMBALL
Wally’s pup and constant source of Joy. His origins are as bizarre as the family
he has joined!
ZIGNAT
A mouse of mystery & many talents. He Inspires Wally and helps plant the seeds of the future - all while avoiding pops!
FIFE
Wally's unusual friend. He'd have to be - he lives in a haunted house...and loves it!
ALOOF
Aloof is above it all. He refuses to cock-a-doodle-do when the sun rises, so the Shamble family is always late! Aloof will only dance for Wally to avoid being dinner.
