About Kem Welch
Kem Welch is an artist, creator, and lifelong dreamer who considers himself fortunate to have built a career doing what he loves. With over 30 years of experience as a musician, his passion for the arts has shaped both his creative journey and his livelihood.
His diverse career spans television, advertising, animation, and technical illustration. He also wrote and produced Kem Welch’s Heart of Christmas, a musical that received enthusiastic reviews across multiple productions.
Encouraged by his parents to embrace both creativity and imagination, Kem spent summers working on his uncle and aunt’s farm—an experience that later inspired elements of his comic strip, ShambleJam.
In 2024, he launched The Chronicles of Horatio, a self-illustrated book series, and is now three books into his writing journey. His next project, Kobbly’s Canvas, is already taking shape.
For Kem, creativity never stops—whether through art, music, or storytelling, there’s always something new on the horizon. What’s next? We’ll just have to wait and see.
